Fat Joe & 50 Cent Feud No More. Proof!

This past week DJ Kay Slay visited Funkmaster Flex at Hot 97 and the pair premiered Slay’s new record, “Free Again,” featuring both Fat Joe and 50 Cent. The track was the latest evidence that the two New York giants are all good now since squashing their beef at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2012.

Kay Slay spoke with XXL about his reasons for reuniting the two rappers, particularly since they shared a common confidant in Chris Lighty, who managed Fif and helped develop Joe.

“They was a longtime friend of Chris [Lighty], so me having knowledge of that, I tried my hand,” explained Slay.

It’s just the latest example of lyricists peace’n it up.

Here’s four other recent beefs that were squashed:

Drake vs. Kanye West: This was more subtle than overt, but Drizzy proved to be the bigger man as he invited ‘Ye to join him on stage this past summer at the OVO Fest.

Wale vs. Kid Cudi: Started during a 2009 GQ shoot when Cudi thought the D.C. rapper was acting weak, then the flames were fanned when the Cleveland kid told Complex in 2010 that G.O.O.D Music doesn’t fuck with Wale “musically,” but they’ve since collaborated on “Focused.”

DMX vs. Ja Rule: This was more drug related (X) than anything else, but the two gravely-voiced rappers tossed a few barbs at each other in the media before settling down.

Eve vs. Lil Kim: Boys will be boys, but girls will also be girls, and these two traded swipes back in the day before acting more lady like and performing overseas together in London last year.
