We’ve heard Andre 3000 talk about it, we’ve seen the photos appear online and now, finally, we’re getting a first look at the OutKast MC playing Jimi Hendrix in the anticipated biopic, “All Is By My Side.”
The above trailer finds Andre as Hendrix reluctantly contemplating a move to London.
The movie is set to screen during the upcoming SXSW Film Festival. The project has been in the works almost as long as its taken 3K and Big Boi to reunite. That could be bad news, but given that it was written and directed by John Ridley (“12 Years A Slave,” “Three Kings”), we’re not stressed.
But, let’s face it, this isn’t Andre’s first movie role, though it is his first starring role, which adds to speculation as to how good this thing will really be. His previous roles have been minor supporting roles and, somewhat comical, albeit, not on purpose.
Do you think Andre 3000 has what it takes to be star as the leading role?
