George Jung, the man who was the inspiration for the movie “Blow,” was released today after serving over 20 years behind bars according to TMZ. The biopic, starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, was based on Jung’s drug career in the ’70s and ’80s. He was responsible for smuggling at least 89 percent of cocaine into the country all at the same time. No statement has been issued as to why he’s been released at this time however, he’s reportedly set to stay in a half-way house to help him transition back into society.
