After being victim to a six vehicle crash Saturday morning, Tracy Morgan is still in critical condition, but at least now showing signs of improvement according to CNN.
“He has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign,” the Morgan’s publicist assured.
The comedian/actor was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J following the crash. He suffered from several injuries including a broken femur, broken ribs, broken nose and a broken leg
Morgan’s mentor McNair, 62, was killed. Morgan’s friend Jeffrey Millea, 36, and comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr., 43, were critically injured, while comic Harris Stanton was treated and released from a hospital Saturday.
“Driver failed to observe slow-moving traffic ahead,” New Jersey State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams said. “He observed at the last minute — just prior to impact — the limo bus carrying Morgan and his party.”
Kevin Roper, 35, is being charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. The Wal-Mart truck driver charged in the crash turned himself in on Sunday.
“This is a tragedy, and we are profoundly sorry that one of our trucks was involved,” Bill Simon, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., said in a statement. “The facts are continuing to unfold. If it’s determined that our truck caused the accident, Walmart will take full responsibility.”
Morgan is expected to remain in the hospital for several weeks despite having surgery on his leg Sunday.
Our prayers are with Tracy Morgan and his family.
