Family Puts Block on Lifetime’s Aaliyah Film: A TV Movie Is Too Small

Disney star Zendaya Coleman has been casted as Aaliyah in a Lifetime movie to be based on the book “Aaliyah: More Than a Woman” by former Time magazine music editor Christopher Farley. This piece of information would suggest the movie’s well on it’s way. Well, it’s not.

According to TMZ Aaliyah’s family they were never contacted by Lifetime in regards to the movie. Aaliyah’s uncle and former manger, Barry Hankerson, says they’ve hired a lawyer and will everything in their power to block the releasing of the film. The family is not granting Lifetime permission to use any of the singer’s tracks. The family also believes a TV movie is way too small for someone as large as Aaliyah.

Lifetime has not made any comments yet.

See the resemblance…or nah?
