After seven years of beefing, New Jersey brethren Joe Budden and Ransom have reunited in the studio to make music together. Pictures popped up last night of the two recording, and to those that know their history, it came as a pretty big surprise.
Ransom was part of the A-Team, and with the help of Joe they were getting some shine around the New York mixtape circuit when the team split and everyone, including Ransom, decided to go their separate ways. But in 2007, Budden released a song called “Family Reunion” with Ransom and Hitchcock on it. They exchanged diss records before it escalated, eventually throwing fists in Jersey City. Soon after, Ransom and a crew came to the house of Budden’s friend and assaulted him in front of a camera. A short time later, Ransom was arrested for a separate incident and served a short stretch in the bing.
Back in February of this year, Budden and Ransom publicly squashed their beef on Twitter, but last night was the first time they’ve been (seen) in the studio together since their fallout seven years ago. Hollow mentioned Ransom at least once at Total Slaughter. Might it have sparked the thought in Joey’s midn? Who knows, but hopefully this means new music. Somebody get DJ Clue on the phone. Find Paul Cain.
