Today is a huge day for hip-hop. The female rap sensation, Remy Ma, who made all young girls scream “I’m conceited, I gotta reason” in the early 2000’s is finally getting released from prison after serving majority of her eight year sentence. She was convicted back in 2008 for assault, weapons possession, and attempted coercion charges. Recently, she called up the Angie Martinez on Power 105.1 to talk about her release:
“Remy Ma is going to be nothing but around starting next week, y’all already know, I’m not a problem, but it’s going to be a problem….my pen game is crazy.”
In a recent interview with Billboard, Remy spoke of her upcoming ventures and her new outlook on life after prison. According to BET she had this to say:
“I’m ready to see the world with these new pair of eyes of mine. Everyone says I’m not missing anything but I think they’re just saying that so I don’t feel bad. I’m excited to get back into the game and make it a little bit more interesting.”
This is one face in hip-hop that has always been on her grind and by the sounds of it will continue to be. Remy had many achievements before her sentence and she plans to pick up right where she left off.
