CRWN, presented by vitaminwater®, is returning with DJ Mustard tomorrow, August 26, in Los Angeles. Elliott Wilson will sit down with the hit maker behind YG’s “My Crazy Life” and countless other records to discuss his new album, 10 Summers, as well as what’s next for the producer. If you want to be in attendance, you can RSVP for the event at LACRWN@cashmereagency.com.
But before all that, we spent some time with Mustard on the week his album dropped (for free) via Google Play. In the clip, he talks about how it felt to get money when he was young and how maturity has helped him deal with success. “At the end of the day, you gotta focus, you gotta grub. You gotta start being a man.”
We get a little insight into how Mustard always stays ahead of the curve musically, too. “I feel like if I don’t go to the studio every day, I’m gonna miss something because there’s someone out there that’s working just as hard as me right now. I gotta get better, I gotta reinvent myself, and the only way that’s gonna happen is if I’m in the studio every night.”
He also talks about his biggest accomplishment to date. “Being able to be in a position to get my money back and take care of my family after I did all the dumb s–t as a teenager.”
Watch as he runs around NYC doing press, talking about working with Kanye West, and popping bottles with some fine models as he prepares for 10 Summers to impact barbecues everywhere.
