Steve Hemmerstoffer, editor of the leading French Apple blog, nowhereelse.fr, has a history of covering iPhone launches. Today he posted a photo which he claims was passed onto him by his “most trusted and loyal Chinese sources,” allegedly the same sources that passed Hemmerstoffer a similar document hours before the launch conference of the iPhone 5s.
The pictured image shows a proof of a Quick Start Guide insert destined for the packaging of the iPhone 6 itself…or so it’s speculated. This very image is the one stirring up ample talk over the next iPhone’s release date, speculated to be September 9th.
However, MacRumors has questioned the veracity of this leak on two counts. First, the date on the iPhone 5S calendar icon “corresponds to the date when iOS 7 debuted, Monday, June 10,” and not the date of the phone announcement. Secondly, there are a few style errors: “the design of the card also lacks slashes between the Ring/Silent switch and Home Button/Touch ID sensor, and the font of the time is not quite in line with Apple’s style.”
All in all, there’s really only one way to find out how true the iPhone rumors are. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
P.S. I wrote this post on the iPhone 5 I will not be trading in once the 6 drops. Mark my words, I shall remain true.
