Well, isn’t the NCAA slick. Today, as the public learned of the Ravens officially terminating Ray Rice’s contract, the NCAA made an adjustment for one of their own teams: the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The NCAA released an official statement announcing the reinstatement of Penn State’s postseason eligibility for the 2015-16 season, as well as the return of all scholarships for the year. As reason for the sudden reinstatement, the report cites Penn State’s “significant progress toward ensuring its athletics department functions with integrity,” though it never states whether any and/or all staff members involved in the Jerry Sandusky scandal are still employed by the university.

In July of this year, Penn Live published a report of the whereabouts of every Joe Paterno-affiliated assistant that worked for Penn State at the time of the Sandusky cover-up. Needless to say, the NCAA could have executed better timing on an announcement like this.
