Killer Mike and El-P are back to soundtrack the end of the world with Run The Jewels 2, and they’ve just dropped a brand new single, “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry,” featuring Michael Winslow and sound effects from Police Academy movies. This is the latest track to premiere via Adult Swim’s Single series, and it’ll also appear on the Run The Jewels 2 LP, set to release October 27.
With that single today came a slew of information about all the different pre-order packages available for Run The Jewels 2 – and some of them are insane. Basic offers include CDs, vinyl LPs, instrumentals and t-shirts, but there are also packages like the $5,000 “Super Duper Collectors Deluxe Edition” of the album, whic includes a t-shirt, a poster, and original masters of the album, of which there is only one copy in existence.
After that, the packages really get foolish. There’s a $7,500 “I’M ON THE F*CKING LIST, ASSHOLE” edition that gets you entry into ten Run The Jewels show (although they warn their obligations are “null and void the second you start freestyling. Money is non refundable. Crying will get you nowhere.” The most expensive edition is the $10,000,000 “RUN THE JEWELS RETIREMENT PLAN PACKAGE,” complete with the reward of all Run The Jewels’ publishing for any song they release in retirement.
Listen to the single above and prepare yourselves for the sequel to one of rap’s best albums in recent years.
