Here Is An Australian Rapper Rah Digga Can Get Down With

Thisis50 Radio (Gossip Viv, Hynaken & DJ Thoro) recently caught up with Rah Digga, notable for being one of rap’s most prominent women MCs during her run with the Flipmode Squad. Of course no female MC escapes the “what do you think about the rest of the female MCs out right now?” question and so Rah spoke her peace.

Here’s what we know:

Rah Digga is excited about Remy Ma being out of jail, “I’m so happy she’s out, shout out to Remy.”

Rah Digga does not think Nicki Minaj was wrong for the things she said during her 2014 BET Awards Speech. She supports her argument by posing the question, “When did it become wrong to call out people that don’t write their own rhymes? When did that become a crime?”

Rah Digga is NOT a fan of Iggy Azalea.

“But let me say this to you now,” Rah Digga begins, “there is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent and her name is Chelsea Jane. THAT [Chelsea] I can get into,” Digga explains. “Teach me Australian hip-hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo,” she says inevitably referring to Iggy Azalea.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Chelsea Jane. She hails from Australia and, unlike Iggy, raps with an authentic Australian accent. No shots fired.

She gained attention after being featured on Atlanta based crew ATLien Workshop’s “Enemy” track in 2012, which led her to team up with Australian hip-hop producer Mules Mecca who produced the killer 6-track EP Queen of the HillIn 2013 she was awarded the APRA/Hilltop Hoods Initiative, which awards an emerging Australian hip-hop or soul artist a $10,000 grant to help them manufacture, release and market their debut albums, as well as legal advice from David Vodicka and Media Arts Lawyers. Most recently, Chelsea shared the stage with hip-hop artists such as The Game (Jesus Piece Tour), Dizzy Wright & Jarren Benton (Funk Volume), Hopsin (Funk Volume), Mantra (Loudmouth Tour), Bam Bam (Bags packed Tour) The Tongue (Surrender to Victory Tour), 360, Drapht and more.

But Iggy doesn’t seem to be tripping up about Rah Digga’s comments as much as the internet is. She tweeted the following in what is a presumed response to Digga’s comments in her interview with Thisis50.

As for Rah Digga, she had her fair share of tweets as well.
