With a (tentative?) release date of January 20, 2015, Lupe Fiasco’s next album Tetsuo & Youth is sounding better with every new release.
Now we get the second Lupe and Ty Dolla Sign collaboration in the form of “Deliver,” an ode to the pizza man that won’t make any runs to the hood. You’ll recall Rolling Stone reporting on Lupe’s new album last year, saying it’s “inspired by [Lupe’s] upbringing in Chicago’s crime-ridden Westside.” Thinking about his verse on Big K.R.I.T.’s “Last Generation” where Lu spits about coke and guns, it seems like we might be seeing a new side of the Chicago rapper – and it’s dope.
The first single with Ty Dolla Sign, “Next To It,” was heavily slept-on. Hopefully “Deliver” won’t see the same fate. Spin it above.
