Jeremih Blames Album Delay On Family Drama

Jeremih has seen a lot of success with his smash hit “Don’t Tell Em” but many have been wondering why a video hasn’t been shot to accompany the single. The Chicago singer revealed that he’s been going through some personal problems over the past few months that have caused to him to stall the release of the video and his album Late Nights: The Album all together. In a recent interview with Billboard, Jeremih opened up about his internal family problems.

“I blame myself,” the singer said in regards to the video. “I had a video scheduled. I just didn’t show up to it because of…” he trails off, declining to elaborate at first. “I’m not going to point my finger at somebody else at this point.”

Jeremih also explained that his label Def Jam hasn’t been supporting him lately and says they’re “hesitating” to drop to the album. He also said that he’s been having legal issues with his two-year old son’s mother, who hasn’t let Jeremih see him for quite some time. But he says that the issues have been resolved and he’s ready to get back on track not just for himself, but for the fans.

“My label is hesitating and not being on my side. I stopped caring about being Jeremih over the last few months. A lot of people don’t know I have a 2-year-old son. His mom wasn’t allowing me to see him, and it was messing with me. I was internally unbalanced. But I just got out of that trial and I won. I want to show some skin now,” he says. “Over the next few months, if you don’t hear about me, something’s wrong.”
