The 42nd American Music Awards went down last night in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre. With Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull, as the host, the AMAs brought out some of the biggest names in music like Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Garth Brooks, Jessie J, and One Direction. With an army of Rap and R&B’s frontrunners in the building, A$AP Rocky & Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX, Lil’ Wayne and Christina Milian, Nicki Minaj and Skylar Grey, Pitbull and Ne-Yo, YG, DJ Mustard & Fergie and Mary J. Blige shut down the Nokia Theatre stage.
Young Money dominated with Lil Wayne and Christina Milian’s performance of their new joint “Start A Fire.” Afterwards, Nicki Minaj took the stage with Skylar Grey to cool it down with her new cut off of The Pinkprint “Bed of Lies.” A$AP Rocky jumped on the remix to Sam Smith’s “I’m Not The Only One” and Ne-Yo performed “Medley” with the man of the night Pitbull. After winning Best Rap/Hip Hop Album and Best Rap Artist, Iggy Azalea joined Jennifer Lopez for the final booty-poppin’ performance of their joint hit “Booty.” Check out clips of all the performances here.
