A Toronto Raptor Says A New Drake Mixtape Is Coming In January

The Toronto Raptors definitely let this one out of the bag. Raptor guard DeMar DeRozan stopped by to chat with EJ, Greg & C-Webb for Fan Night and discussed his progression throughout his career and the players’ teamwork in the season thus far. Towards the end of the interview, DeRozan was asked about the team’s ambassador Drake. He explained that the head of OVO Sounds truly supports the team and that it’s not just for show. Then he said something that he probably wasn’t supposed to say:

“I talked to him the other night, actually he said he wanted to give me his mixtape that come out in January.”

There hasn’t been any confirmation from Drizzy about the project. However, if what DeRozan said is true, then this will be Drake’s first mixtape since So Far Gone in 2009. Now it’s apparent that the tape will come before his forthcoming album Views From The 6. But it looks like there might be a home for the slew of singles he dropped within the past couple months like “6 God” and “How About Now.”
