Chris Rock Deals With A Broken Funny Bone In “Top 5” [TRAILER]

Written, directed by, and starring Chris Rock, TOP FIVE tells the story of New York City comedian-turned-film star Andre Allen, whose unexpected encounter with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) forces him to confront the comedy career—and the past—that he’s left behind.

Allen has been riding high on the success of his hit film series Hammy The Bear (which seems almost crazy enough to be a real flick) and is getting ready to marry reality startErica Long (played by Gabrielle Union) until he hits a rut and “doesn’t feel funny anymore.”

It appears that part of his recovery is a spirited conversation about who his “Top 5” MCs are. “Jay, Nas, Scarface and Rakim,” he reveals. “Then I might let Biggie get in there… LL is my sixth man.”  We can’t wait to see where this goes.

Top Five also stars Kevin Hart, Tracy Morgan, Cedric The Entertainer, J.B. Smoove, Sherri Shepherd, Anders Holm, Romany Malco, Leslie Jones, Michael Che, and Jay Pharoah.  The film is produced by Scott Rudin and Eli Bush.  The Co-Producers are Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Kanye West; the Executive Music Producer is Questlove.

TOP FIVE, will open in theaters on December 5, 2014 (limited release) and December 12, 2014 (wide release).
