Maino & Uncle Murda Take A Stand In “Hands Up”

Following the devastating decision made by the grand jury to not indict white police officer Daniel Pantaleo for the death of Eric Garner, all of New York City took to the streets to protest last night. While some rappers like J. Cole joined the march in Times Square, others like Brooklyn’s own Maino and Uncle Murda decided to get creative and channel their frustration the best way they know how.

Both New York MC’s linked up for “Hands Up,” a song that speaks out against the violence police officers have bestowed upon citizens of color across the nation. They speak about the tragic deaths of Eric Garner and Mike Brown of Ferguson. They reenacted situations that have become a regular occurrence that plays out in the media every year.
