Nipsey Hussle has been teasing his prelude to his debut album for some time but now the California native has given us an official release date right before the end of 2014. Mailbox Money is set to drop on New Year’s Eve with a special twist for the year-end release. After releasing his last project Crenshaw for $100, Nipsey will be selling a special version of his new project for $1,000.
Nipsey said that there will only be 100 physical copies of the album sold for $1,000 each, which also includes a special invite to a listening of his debut album Victory Lap. Even though Nipsey upped the ante for Mailbox Money, that doesn’t mean those less fortunate won’t have an opportunity to cop his new body of work. iTunes will have the project for a reasonable $10 and DatPiff will be sponsoring it for the free on their website.

Earlier today, Nipsey Hussle took to Instagram with a cover of a surprise new album, Mailbox Money, and said we can expect it to drop this month.
It’s good news for Nipsey fans who are awaiting his proper album, Victory Lap, which feels like it’s been in the making for years now. The question is whether Nipsey will utilize a marketing tactic like he did last time for Crenshaw by charging $100 for a CD. That strategy drew criticism from across the industry, but if Jay Z is putting up a Benjamin to hear your music, you’re probably doing something right.
