#SoleWatch: The Top 25 Sneaker Releases Of 2014

Whether you’re a buyer, seller or collector, sneaker fiends world wide stood on line or stayed glued to their Mac screens anticipating the release of the latest collections of sneakers from the only brands that matter. We’ve seen some extraordinary designs that go outside of the box like the Jeremy Scott and adidas Originals “Dark Knights” collaboration or the all-metallic Nike Air Trainer “Super Bowl.” The various Foamposite releases like the Supreme “Sports Red” and the “Knicks” enticed people to go without food until they got their hands on them.

The unruly sneaker fiends in the lines may have sparked some mayhem while waiting for the release of coveted sneakers like the Air Jordan XI “Legend Blue.” But if you didn’t get to witness the outrage in the lines, you could open your favorite social media app and see the frustrations of many disgruntled shoppers. The tweets were just as malicious when the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 release was changed and then sold out within five minutes.

The last of the Lebron 11’s that dropped this year couldn’t rank up to the amount of hype that surrounded the debut of the Lebron 12’s. Shoppers almost rioted when an eyelet malfunction on the “Heart of a Lion” and “Dunk Force” models caused a recall that ended up pushing back the release date for the “NSRL,” which held back the rest of the releases. However, Nike came through with an effective solution that got the releases back on track. Now we’re just waiting on the “Trillion Dollar Man.”

It goes without saying that we’ve seen some crazy releases this year. Whether they started riots or simply just amazed us, there were several kicks that caught our attention. While there were a plethora of kicks that dropped this year, we highlighted 25 new sneakers that made an impact in the sneaker community and beyond in 2014.
