When worlds collide it can be a beautiful thing. Today HBO Signature began playing every season of their critically acclaimed crime drama, “The Wire” in a marathon that will squeeze all five seasons into five days.
To enhance the experience and provide context for the uninitiated, MC/Singer Phonte Coleman of The Foreign Exchange and Little Brother provided his own analysis of the series using A Tribe Called Quest albums for comparison. He pulled a similarly brilliant move last year when he compared MCs to popular TV shows, declaring “The Wire” was Jay Z and that “Breaking Bad” is Nas, among others. So taking his sage advice, we fired up Storify and captured his compelling narrative for all to enjoy.
