Beanie Sigel is steadily recovering and has been released from the hospital after he was shot near his home in New Jersey back in December. After surgery, the State Property rapper was awake and recovering the same day, which prompted his well-deserved release. Sigel’s injuries from the shooting were considered life-threatening when reports first surfaced. But now, rapper and friend Neef Buck has confirmed Sigel’s homecoming on Instagram.
Sigel, along with another man, was shot on the morning of December 5 near his home in South Jersey. Beanie had just dropped his kids off at school before returning home. Police had previously stated that an altercation outside of his house triggered the shooting but Sigel was not the intended target.
The “Feel It In The Air” rapper was rushed to the hospital and listed under critical condition with wounds in the abdomen and an exit wound in his back. The other man, Sigel’s brother-in-law Umar Salahuddin, was injured in the shooting but refused any treatment and did not cooperate with the investigation.
This occurred just months after serving a two-year jail sentence for tax evasion of $700,000 over six years and a congruently served sentence on narcotics possession charges. It also comes as another close call for the former Roc-A-Fella rapper who was shot multiple times in 2006 during a robbery in Philadelphia.
Welcome home Beanie!
