Fans of YG 400 and DJ Mustard were all in their feelings a couple weeks ago when the Cali duo fired shots at each other on the gram. The incriminating posts have been deleted since the two patched things up just days after the beef blew up. Recently, in an interview with MTV, Mustard took the time to explain exactly why the beef exploded.
“I mean, we exchanged words, but we brothers,” said Mustard. “That’s what brothers do. And then we handled it like men.”
Mustard claimed that the original post that sparked the IG beef was in reference to a previous situation that he said he didn’t know about. He also said that his shots about not getting paid for YG’s My Krazy Life was meant at Def Jam. But now that it’s all behind them, Mustard said the whole thing helped him and YG a lot.
“It helped me and YG in a lot of ways,” he explained. “Because we got, like, a big, big, big, big entourage, and you just got to see who would pick whose side, you know what I’m saying? And you would see who wouldn’t pick each other’s side. And you got calls from people — I got calls from people, he got calls from people — that were saying, ‘Yo, I’m riding with you,’ or ‘I ride with you.’ At the end of the day, why are you riding with either one of us? We brothers. We supposed to fight and get it over with it…So it just helped us cut the snakes out the grass, and move into 2015 in a good way.”
