It’s that time of year again for Nike, Inc. to celebrate Black History Month with their new BHM Collection for 2015. This year, Nike along with Jordan Brand will be releasing special edition products across basketball, football, running, soccer and skateboarding. The collection will honor six athletes and coaches who have positively influenced the sports world: Theotis Beasley, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Jerry Rice, Brianna Rollins, C. Vivian Stringer and John Thompson.
“Sport is an incredible platform to inspire and encourage positive social change,” said Vice President and General Manager of Nike Brand’s Global Basketball Michael Jackson. “Our 2015 Black History Month Collection honors and celebrates the athletes and leaders who have influenced global culture and have paved the way for our next generation.”
The collection includes 28 products, which all feature a black-and-white palette with a mix of three unique designs. With both performance and lifestyle styles on deck, the collection includes 12 sneakers and 16 accessories for men and women. The proceeds from the sales will be going to the Ever Higher Fund, which lends a hand to organizations that leverage the power of sport to maximize the potential of underserved youth.
The release will coincide with the celebration of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. You can find the collection in stores and the Net starting January 17, 2015. While you stack your paper up, check out the limited selection of BHM Lebron 12, KD 7, Air Jordan XX9 and plenty more.
