Crooked I has witnessed an abundance of rap battles in his time as an emcee, but when it comes to his fellow Slaughterhouse companion Joell Ortiz, Kxng Crooked thinks that Ortiz has the upper hand over popular battle rapper Charlie Clips. Crooked recently sat down with VLAD TV to talk about his feelings on Clips’ remarks about beating Ortiz in a battle.
“That’s how it goes in this battle rap shit,” said Crooked. “People call each other out. If anybody is willing to step in that ring, then we’ll see who wins. He’s a great battler, but Joell is a great emcee.”
Crooked backs up his claim by rehashing on Hollow Da Don and Joe Budden’s battle during last year’s Total Slaughter. He remembers being on that stage and still believes that Budden beat Hollow 2-1. The fact that Hollow allowed the crowd’s boos and jeers affect his overall performance made him put down the mic and forfeit the third and final round. Watch the interview here.
