50 Cent has had it out for FOX’s new show “Empire” since he first accused the network of jocking the marketing strategies used for his show “Power,” which contains similar themes. But now the director of “Empire” claims that 50 wants to be a guest star. In a recent interview with Hip-Hop Wired, “Empire” director Lee Daniels said that 50 had contacted him and offered to guest star on the series starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
“Oh 50, he didn’t even see the show,” said Daniels. “I just talked to him two weeks ago and he said was gonna come guest star. He’s just trying to start some mess.”
This sounds like classic 50. He would want to guest star after nearly inciting a feud with Henson last week. She bashed 50 in response to a fan’s question about his negative comments about the show on Twitter. But none of that seems to phase 50. After all, he is getting his highly-rated show “Power” more exposure by putting the competition on blast. But what could come of him wanting to be a part of the opposition?
Since it’s debut in 2014, “Power,” produced by 50 Cent and starring Omari Hardwick, has been getting a lot attention. Aside from having guest stars like 50 Cent himself and La La Anthony, the series finale pulled in 2.5 million viewers, the highest-rated ending of Starz since “Spartacus: War of the Damned” back in 2013.
