Common and John Legend have achieved a lot with their anthem “Glory,” inspired by the movie Selma. Not long after receiving a Golden Globe for the song, the Chicago rapper and the G.O.O.D Music singer got together to bring “Glory” to life by reliving the monumental moments from Martin Luther King, Jr’s historic march from Selma to Montgomery in an effort to push for equal voting rights for African Americans.
Legend took his position at the piano while Common laid down his motivational bars. The most imperative scenes from Selma were used to match the tone of the powerful song. Selma is in theaters now along with the soundtrack featuring “Glory.” Watch the video here.
