Dr. Dre’s New Protégé Is A 23-Year-Old White Rapper From Texas Named Justin Night

The rappers Dr. Dre chooses to take under his wing are few and far between, but they’ve got a storied history of success: Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, etc. Now it seems the next one in line is a 23-year-old white rapper from Texas named Justin Night.

Dallas publication D Magazine recently profiled the rapper born Justin Mohrle who hails from Garland, TX. He was discovered and signed by D.O.C., who then forwarded Mohrle’s music to Dre. Liking what he heard, the good doctor flew Mohrle out to his home studio in Sherman Oaks. Night has worked with the likes of Gwen Stefani, BJ The Chicago Kid, and King Mez since.

D.O.C. says everyone in Dre’s camp is working on Dre’s music right now, but focus will shift to Justin Night’s music next. You can hear some of his early work when he went by Love JT below.
