Emilio Rojas just released his latest collaboration with Slaughterhouse rapper Joell Ortiz. The single called “Nada” allows us a deeper look into the Latino rapper’s hardships growing up in New York City. Rojas talks about all the jobs his mother took on while she raised him on her own. But the track is just the start for what Rojas has planned in the future.
“When I started writing the record, it was originally going to be a freestyle,” Rojas told WatchLOUD. “But my focus now is going to be on saying shit that people can relate to. I think this record is like a re-entry for me on a major scale. It’s what I’m best at and it’s more fulfilling to me.”
Meanwhile, Joell Ortiz laid down his verse about how far he’s come up from his rough beginnings back when his mom was working at White Castle. Rojas said that if he knew anyone that can spit some knowledge about real situations people can relate to, it’s Joell.
“This is right up Joell’s lane,” said Rojas. “He’s really, really good at storytelling and the real life shit as well.”
“Nada,” produced by Bizness Boi & Derelle Rideout, is the first single to come off Emilio’s upcoming EP Life Got In The Way. While there’s no set release date yet, be sure to look out for more from Rojas coming soon. Listen to “Nada” here.
