The Cleveland Browns have taken matters into their own hands by sending Johnny Manziel to rehab treatment this past Wednesday, according to an ESPN report today. Several sources close to Manziel told ESPN the rookie QB showed a “lack of commitment and preparation, a failure to be ready when given a chance in his first start against Cincinnati and a continued commitment to nightlife, which affected his preparation and work while in the team facility.”
The breaking point apparently came the day before the season finale against the Baltimore Ravens. Manziel didn’t show up that morning and when Browns security drove down to Manziel’s home to check on his safety, they found the QB “drunk off his ass.” He was fined for missing hamstring treatment and had to sit in the locker room for their game against the Ravens.
Manziel told reporters and press last season that he wanted to be “the guy” in Cleveland. Rehab seems to be the first indication that Manziel is serious about changing his ways.
