Eminem continues his streak of ‘Best Rap Album’ wins taking home that honor for The Marshal Mathers LP 2 and ‘Best Rap Sung Collaboration’  for the Rihanna assisted “The Monster.”  These are Eminem’s 15th and 16th Grammy wins so far, including five for Best Rap Album. Much of the conversation leading up to the awards was regarding Iggy Azalea’s New Classic, and whether the decidedly pop album would (or should) take home top rap honors.

Kendrick Lamar also took home his first Grammys: ‘Best Rap Performance’ and ‘Best Rap Song’ for his inspirational ‘i’.  Kendrick was nominated for seven Grammys last year, including ‘Best Rap Album’ for Good Kid M.a.a.d City, but was shut out.
