Samuel L. Jackson teamed up with Finnish director Jalmari Helander last year to make the action-thriller Big Game, in which Jackson (finally!) plays the President of The United States. No, I’m not kidding. Yes, I’m excited beyond belief.
The film follows The President (Jackson) as his political cabinet plans to stab him in the back by ejecting him off of Air Force One and crashing the plane in the wilderness of Finland, where young hunter Oskari (newcomer Onni Tomilla) helps him get his bearings and fight off the legions of assassins and mercenaries who want the President dead.
To put things in perspective, combine White House Down, Hanna, and Snakes On A Plane, set it in the Findland wilderness, and you’ve got Big Game. The film premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and is the most expensive Finnish film ever produced, costing 8.5 millions euros.
