You won’t have to wait for tonight’s Oscar broadcast to indulge in drama. Jersey MC Lady Luck has reached back into her battle rap roots to stir up a pot of ground beef on her latest track, “Warning Shots.”
“Been rappin’ 85 years and I ain’t dropped sh*t/ When you speak of the best I still make that list/made a lane for you hoes, this the thanks I get?/ ungrateful, so unappreciated Lord the most underrated, most hated, but still the greatest/ I see your faces as soon as n*ggas play this/ Just a warning shot, dare y’all to say sh*t…Luck home.”
Lady Luck first caught the attention of rap fans slinging verbs alongside Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman and Shabaam Sahdeeq on Pharoahe Monch’s “Simon Says” remix and went head-to-head with Remy Ma in a 2004 Fight Club battle.
Luck followed up her diss drop with Tweets directed at Remy:
Let’s get ready to rumble.
