Donald Glover is a man with hands in many different soups. From music to TV and movies and even interpretive art, he’s got everything covered. But even renaissance men like Glover feel the need to bring things to an end.
While promoting the horror film The Lazarus Effect on The Today Show earlier today (February 24th), Glover talked about the fact that the Childish Gambino “period” of his career may be coming to an end. This may not mean exactly what fans think it does, however.
“”I always wanna do music, like I love music, and I wanna produce,” he elaborated. ” “I guess Childish Gambino is like a period in my art time, and I want to have periods in my life, so I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close…I like endings.”
Music will undoubtedly come from Glover one way or another, but maybe Childish Gambino wasn’t a pseudonym that was built to last. This is hardly the last we’ll from Glover, between his role in The Lazarus Effect and his upcoming FX show about the hip-hop scene in Atlanta. Check out the interview above.
