The Rapfest is back with the 6th installment of their exclusive cipher series. The series, which has featured Smoke DZA, Prodigy, Vado and more, continues to provide a new platform for upcoming artists that blends the talent select lyricists and producers from the respected vets to the newbies. With Rapfest’s recent partnership with HipHopDX, the latest installment is the second of their four-part collaborative sub-series. Captured by Chris Zino from the Exhibition Z Films, the new cipher puts on for the East Coast as they mesh talent from Miami, New York City and Philadelphia.
Bronx rapper Mickey Factz laid out his freestyle and then passed it over to Rapfest’s Up Next artist Maffew Ragazino representing Brooklyn. After Ragazino held his own with his slick bars, Dade County’s own Bizzy Crook went off with his own verse that closed out the cipher. Rising producer Lavish straight out of Philly provided the production for the instrumental. Lavish told RapFest that his keen attention to detail makes the production process lengthy, however perfection takes time. Stay tuned for part three of the four-part Rapfest x HipHopDX cipher series, which is set to drop March 2015.
