It’s been five years since Chris “Ludacris” Bridges has dropped an album-length project. He’s been busy holding down his acting career and preparing to bring a child into the world with his wife Eudoxie. But after the release of his Burning Bridges EP last year and the announcement that his eighth studio album would be called Ludaversal, Luda tweeted the album artwork early this afternoon:
The tint of the photo and the lettering up top give off a vintage 70s vibe, but it’s actually photo proof of how far Luda has come. That car in the photo is the first one he ever bought, a 1993 Acura Legend, parked next to his private jet, driving home the theme of everything coming full circle. Luda’s been dropping a series of freestyles called “Ludaverses” in preparation for the album’s drop at the end of this month, but I’m excited to see how he manages to translate in a modern context. Ludaversal is out March 31st on Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings.
