Nicki Minaj called in to BBC Radio to talk about her side of the internal drama going on at Cash Money Records. The Pinkprint rapper started by expressing her opinion about the “Truffle Butter” situation that caused some problems with Tyga. According to her, the former Young Money rapper was never meant to be on the single in the first place, yet he leaked the song with his own verse. Nicki claimed that she felt he was “disrespectful” for the slick move.
“The song was on my album, we don’t know how, but it magically ended up in Tyga’s hands,” she explained. “I told him that’s my song. I told him me and Drake were going to be on it, and lo and behold it leaked with him on it after I told him not to put it out. And I thought that was a little bit disrespectful, because I had always shown him love. I had always done stuff with him and took him on tour with me.”
Nicki also broke her silence about Birdman and Lil Wayne’s epic legal battle that’s set on splitting up Cash Money and Young Money. She’s previously stated that she wants to remain neutral in the feud and she hasn’t changed her mind. Last night, she told BBC 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth that she still loves both Wayne and Baby, whom she’s very close to. She also said that she’s not accepting the idea that their infamous imprint will split up. Like she said during CRWN last year, she hopes that both of them will work things out.
“I am banking on the fact that they’re gonna work this out like family,” said Minaj. “They’ve gone through things before just like family does and it is what it is. They gonna get through it. I’m not even gonna think that way.”
