The heated tiff between rappers Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks was one of the biggest things to hit Twitter last year, and Saturday Night Live has finally played some catch up in parodying the madness.
In SNL’s universe, Azalea, played by Kate McKinnon, has her own show, aptly titled The Iggy Azalea Show. McKinnon riffs on Azalea’s switching between her native Australian accent and the Southern-inspired “blaccent” that she dons in her music and copying the style and moves of fellow rapper Azealia Banks, played by Sasheer Zamata, who she invites to talk about their Twitter beef.
Jay Pharaoh shows up to play T.I. (he calls Iggy his “Franken-fine”) and Chris Hemsworth, who hosted SNL last weekend, shows face in a segment called Tip-Hop, where he suggests using gun sounds in your songs if you can’t think of what to say.
Iggy Azalea recently took a leave of absence from her social media accounts, including Twitter and, most recently, Instagram, citing time away from the paparazzi as the reason. Check out the silly shade above.
