Charles Hamilton is making an official comeback with Iggy Azalea’s management company and a new deal with Republic Records. He dropped his official new single, “New York Raining,” with Rita Ora the other day, and now he’s on Hot 97, reminiscing about his rough past.
After confirming that his next album, produced by The Invisible Men (who also did Iggy’s “Fancy”), will drop by third or fourth quarter, Charles revisited that fateful day when he got clocked in the jaw by a homegirl while freestyling. “I found that to be a beautiful moment,” he said. “I was the one who told the videographer to put the video out.”
He also talks about his troubled history with drugs and why he dressed like such a bum for his barbershop battle against Serius Jones.
