5 O’Clock Beat Drop: Allan Kingdom, Antwon, The Lox, & More

So many rap songs drop every day, it’s hard to keep track of them all. That’s why we do the 5 O’Clock Beat Drop to collect the best (and sometimes worst) songs of the day in one, easy to find post for your convenience.

Antwon – “Jacuzzi” (Feat. Lushlife) [Prod. by Lushlife]

Antwon isn’t your average rapper, and “Jacuzzi” isn’t your average rap song, but as Spring creeps in, this sounds just right. It’s almost like Antwon found a beat on Soulection and decided to do his thing over it. We aren’t mad. Double Ecstasy drops this summer.

Pouya – “Chosen” (Feat. Allan Kingdom and Bobby Raps)

Allan Kingdom is proving why he’s worth a lot more than a feature on a Kanye West song with his recent output, and here he kills Miami rapper Pouya’s new “Chosen” track. Bobby Raps of the popular Rap & B group The St4ndard lays it down, too.

Meyhem Lauren – “100 MPH” (Feat. Action Bronson) [Prod. by Buckwild]

If you missed Meyhem Lauren’s 2014 LP with Buckwild Silk Pyramids, we understand, but we don’t empathize. That album was hot, top to bottom. Above is the video for standout cut “100 MPH,” and it features Bronson’s usual hilarious rhymes.

Eskeerdo – Eskeerdo EP

Miami’s own Eskeerdo recently released his follow-up to 2014 mixtape 31 Days. The Grammy Award-winning songwriter delivers six brand new tracks with production by Infamous, The Agency, and German. The self-titled EP embodies the gritty Miami sound that rappers like Trick Daddy introduced to the scene over a decade ago. Listen to the EP here.

The Lox – “Bring It Back” (Prod. by Unique)

Jada, Styles and Sheek don’t sound like they’ve aged a day on this brand new Lox cut, “Bring It Back.” Those strings remind us of some gully D.I.T.C. shit, too.
