During the taping of Justin Bieber’s roast earlier this week (Mar 14), Ludacris was noticeably upset with Jeff Ross’ low blow at the late Paul Walker. While everyone on stage like Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell as Ron Burgandy were firing shots at Bieber for fun, Ross’ jokes steered a little left as he went off on a tangent by mentioning Walker during his time at the podium.
“Move b*tch, get out of the way!’ is what Paul Walker should’ve told that tree. Too soon? Too fast? Too furious?” said Ross.
After some scattered groans from the audience, the room fell silent. Walker’s co-star Chris “Ludacris” Bridges was furious with the snide comment especially since the joke also referenced his single off Word Of Mouf. The Fast & Furious actor was the first to suggest that Comedy Central should cut the jokes from the final broadcast. Now it has been confirmed that the network will be granting Luda’s request.
“Roasts often push the limits of good taste and we give the participants full rein to try things knowing we have the edit to shape the show. Sometimes the line is discovered by crossing it. The Paul Walker references will not be in the telecast,” said a spokesperson from Comedy Central.
Bieber took the rest of the jokes that were hurled at him like a champ. He sat in the middle of the stage as celebrities like “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson, Hannibal Burress, Natasha Leggero, Shaquille O’Neal and Martha Stewart clowned on him for his past mistakes. The edited telecast will air on March 30.
