Fresh off of his collaboration with Canadian jazz band BadBadNotGood, Wu-Tang alum Ghostface Killah is heading to Canada to find a new R&B/rap superstar…really.

In an interview with CBC Music, Tony Starks, complete with bedazzled purple jacket, shared his feelings that music’s next hit maker is up north. “There’s talent. It’s there, it’s just the opportunity for them is hard,” Ghostface said. “It’s like diamonds, just trying to figure out where the diamonds is at, where the gold at?”

But it goes a little deeper than that. Ghostface is launching his own record label, Supreme Records, and starting up an American Idol-like reality show called Canada Takes The Mic to weed out the potential star (an artist who “may have the raw talent, but require the experience, mentorship and resources of a legend to set them on the road to success,” according to a press release). Whoever wins will receive a recording contract with Supreme and $100,000 in prizes. I hope the north is grooming its talent as we speak.
