Snoop Dogg is stepping up in the Battle Rap world with plans on establishing his own league in the West. Not long after his highly-publicized “Gladiator School” event at last year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, Uncle Snoop has decided to get more involved with the battle rap community by launching his new series “Take Flight On Sight.” In a recent interview with BattleRap.com, Snoop described his intentions for the 12-part tournament.
“I got twelve episodes of ‘Take Flight on Sight,’ this was episode one,” Snoop said. “Basically [the series is] to give these emcees an opportunity to actually become Gladiators and make it to Gladiator School. Once we become Gladiators we can become strong enough to take on another battle league. That’s what my thing is, to find the best battle league, whether it’s SMACK, whoever it is. I wanna be able to have my Gladiators say, ‘We wanna take your eight best battle emcees where I’m putting up the money.”
“Take Flight On Sight” is a collaboration between Snoop and the Las Vegas battle league AHAT. It will allow competitors to rhyme their way up to Snoop’s “Gladiator School” battle league. After filming the series, Snoop said that he already knows which competitors have potential.
“I heard some Spartans [tonight], I heard some Gladiators,” he said. “I heard it go down tonight on some real talk.”
