Yelawolf Has Finally Found His Voice Thanks To His “Best Friend” Eminem [LISTEN]

It’s been some time since we’ve gotten a true banger from Shady Records’ slept-on artist Yelawolf, but you won’t believe the heat he’s packing for his upcoming album Love Story. The lead single on the album, entitled “Best Friend,” has the potential to become something bigger than anyone ever expected from the Tennessee spitter.

The way Yelawolf sings his verses is different from his previous work. While it sounds like Yela is referring to God as his “best friend,” Eminem’s verse leads us to believe that there’s something more spiritual behind his meaning, especially by mentioning his late friend Proof.

“Who you think’s my Glock that I use?/That I pull from to get my strength up against these haters
And they be waiting at the gate/When you get sprayed up, sending you hoes straight up
To deal with my (best friend, best friend)”

Love Story drops April 21st. Listen to “Best Friend” above.
