9th Wonder Meets Da Youngsta’s And Loses His Mind [VIDEO]

No matter how many records you make or groups you sign you never really stop being a fan. During a recent stop at SiriusXM in NYC to promote Rapsody’s EP, Beauty And The Beast, Jamla’s 9th Wonder was stopped in the hall by Forbez DVD to get a drop. Afterward he is introduced to Philly rap crew Da Youngtsta’s who are chilling in the lobby. At first he gives the polite “peace” before realizing he was meeting one his favorite groups, “You made my f*ckin night!”

Da Youngsta’s–comprised of brothers Taji and Quran Goodman and their cousin Tarik Dawson–premiered in 1992 with their album Somethin 4 Da Youngsta’s and had tape decks rocking with cuts like “Pass Da Mic” and “Crews Pop.”  Their line “money is growin like grass with the mass appeal” became the vocal hook to Gang Starr’s classic “Mass Appeal.”

Get familiar with some joints from Da Youngsta’s below and watch 9th become a big kid again in the clip above.  Shout to Doggie Diamonds.
