Tech N9ne On Eminem Collaboration: “I’m Still Trying To Dissect It”

Tech N9ne is on the brink of releasing his upcoming album Special Effects, which features his long-awaited collaboration with Eminem, “Speedom.” DJ Skee got the opportunity to sit down with the Strange Music CEO to talk about how the song came to fruition. Tech explained how he met Marshall 16 years ago while on the set of the “Wake Up Show” with Sway, RZA, and King Tech, and the two MCs have had a solid working relationship ever since. He also shared how he felt about Em’s verse on the record.

“I can’t stop listening to it,” Tech said. “I set out for [Eminem] to do 16 bars. He loved it so much that he went on and did 24 bars. I’m still trying to dissect it because there’s so much in there.”

Tech also shed more light on his thoughts about the future of Em’s career when they first met back in 1998. While they both have impeccable skills, Tech thinks his wild appearance and the red spikes he used to rock made it difficult for him to receive similar placements. Tech also spoke about the hurdles he’s had to endure over the years and the passing of his mother. Watch the interview in full above.
