Vince Staples Has An Answer To “Trap Queen” With His New “Señorita” Single

*UPDATE: Pitchfork reports that this is indeed the first single from Vince’s upcoming debut album on Def Jam, Summertime ’06. It’s executive produced by No I.D. and will be released on June 30.

Back in March, we reported about a new song Vince Staples performed at SXSW that featured Future. We weren’t initially clear whether it was a real Future feature or just a sample from his Honest cut “Covered N’ Money,” and today we can confirm two things: one, it’s the latter, and two, it’s still fire.

The song is called “Señorita” and it features vocalist Snoh Aalegra at the end. The beat boasts a hefty low end to counter the shimmering West Coast synths as Vince talks about the effects of street life. Hopefully this means his new album is on the way. Listen to the new single above.
