British Actor’s Strange Face Is Perfect For Remake Of Stephen King’s It

For those who didn’t know, New Line Cinema and “True Detective” director Cary Fukunaga plan to remake Stephen King’s It. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Fukunaga has found the man who will play the demonic creature that dwells in the sewers. English actor Will Poulter will star as the satanic clown, Pennywise.

Fukunaga’s vision for the the remake of Stephen King’s 1986 novel will be somewhat different from the 1990 TV movie, in which Tim Curry played the evil clown. The story follows a band of youths who call themselves “The Loser Club.” After the clown kills one of their own, the group faces the evil clown and defeat him together. Years after their confrontation, Pennywise comes back and the club members, who are now adults, must defeat him once again without any memory of how they defeated him in the past. Fukunaga plans to split up the kids’ story and the adults’ experiences with “it” into two films.

You may remember Poulter from his breakthrough role as the moronic virgin in the 2012 film We’re The Millers. Since then, he’s prevented himself from being typecast as a nerdy goof and has taken on more challenging roles in films like The Maze Runner, where he played Gally. Now he’ll be scaring the hell out of a new generation of kids as Pennywise the serial-killing clown.

Are you ready for It’s return? Here’s one creepy ass scene from the original TV movie.
