8 Biggie Smalls Mashup Albums You Need To Hear

The Notorious B.I.G. has been influencing generations of musicians for decades. Since his debut album Ready To Die dropped in 1993, aspiring musicians and DJ’s have taken it upon themselves to add their own touch to his classic records. Over the years, we’ve heard plenty of mashups and remixes of several songs off Biggie’s first album from all genres of music. In honor of his 43rd birthday, we brought together nine mashup albums from artists and DJ’s, like DJ Premier and DJ Vlad, who have fused Biggie’s memorable lyrics with new beats and concepts to brand new songs.

The Notorious B.I.G. Reggae Remixes (2015)

Reggae artist G Duppy took Biggie’s vocals and put them over the sounds of the Caribbean. The mixtape takes eight classic songs like “Juicy,” “Big Poppa,” and “Hypnotize” and gives them the real reggae treatment. And it’s not bad either.
