In the midst of the epic melee happening between the major music-streaming services, Tidal has made a smart move that might put them ahead of their competitors. Students will now be able to reap the full benefits of Tidal for the lowest price offered thus far. The new program will allow students with a valid .edu email address to pay $4.99 a month in lieu of the monthly price of $9.99 for general access and the $19.99 premium option.

Jay Z’s hub for music, video, and more has also moved on from their web-app days and finally launched a desktop application. The desktop app works for both Mac and PC users and features full AirPlay support for convenient streaming on any Apple device. Tidal also announced their new partnership with Ticketmaster, which will make it easier for users to purchase tickets through their service. With the help of Ticketmaster, users will be able to see their favorite artist’s upcoming tour dates and buy tickets for the show on the spot.

Your move, Spotify and Apple.
